Every square a gesture of care: Brenda Plummer鈥檚 patchwork quilt reflects 天美传媒 heart and hers

Brenda Plummer holds up a colorful handmade quilt inside the UMA Saco Center. The quilt features the words "UMA Saco" in large bold letters and includes bright fabric squares with Moose images, paisley patterns, flowers, and the word 鈥淗ello鈥 in multiple languages. Brenda is smiling warmly, holding the quilt from behind.

Brenda Plummer stands proudly with the quilt she created for 天美传媒 Saco Center 鈥 an eye-catching, hand-stitched welcome that now greets every visitor to the main office.

A new quilt hangs behind the main administration desk at the 天美传媒鈥檚 Saco Center, offering a colorful, heartfelt welcome to all who enter. Created by Administrative Assistant Brenda Plummer, the quilt weaves together 天美传媒 colors alongside symbols of welcome: the word 鈥渉ello鈥 in various languages, friendly Moose, and rainbows that reflect our community 鈥 as vibrant and diverse as the quilt itself.

Much like the quilt she created, Brenda鈥檚 story is layered, vibrant, and stitched with care. A 2024 graduate of UMA, she鈥檚 not only a talented craftswoman but also a source of daily encouragement and steady support for students, staff, and visitors alike. Known for her warmth and wisdom, Brenda is often the first to greet students at the front desk 鈥 and one of the first people they turn to for help navigating their path.

Her life story includes everything from truck driving to advocacy, and her return to school was driven by a desire to grow, give back, and prove that it鈥檚 never too late to start something new. Brenda鈥檚 compassion, unique perspective, and enduring strength resonate with students from all walks of life. 鈥淵ou encourage me every time I come in to do the best I can do,鈥 student Katrina Thibedeau shared. 鈥淵ou make me feel I can do it.鈥

Brenda Plummer鈥檚 quilt is more than a piece of art 鈥 it鈥檚 a reflection of her generosity and the welcoming spirit that defines the Saco Center. It stands as a reminder that UMA is a place where people are valued, stories are honored, and every stitch 鈥 like every student 鈥 matters.
