鈥淲e are grateful that our military service members, veterans, and their families have chosen UMA to pursue their educational goals,鈥 stated UMA Interim President Joseph Szakas. 鈥淭his designation recognizes the commitment of the faculty and staff at UMA to support our students and to ensure their success.鈥

鈥淲e are honored to receive this designation and achieve gold award status,鈥 said Amy Line, UMA Director of Military and Veterans鈥 Services. 鈥淭his is consistent with 天美传媒 long history of being a welcoming community for those who served or are currently serving and their families. At both the Veterans Academic Center on the Augusta Campus and the Veterans Lounge on the Bangor Campus, our service members and veterans find fellow students with shared experiences and a built in support system upon arrival.鈥

Institutions earning the Military Friendly庐 Schools Top Awards were evaluated using public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey. Over 1,800 schools participated in the 2022-2023 survey, 665 schools earned awards level designations in Gold, Silver, and Bronze, 282 of over 1800 participants were selected for “Gold” award status for their leading practices, outcomes, and effective programs.

Institutions earning the听听designation are evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school.

Methodology, criteria, and weightings were determined by Viqtory with input from the Military Friendly庐 Advisory Council of independent leaders in higher education. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution’s survey responses and government/agency public data sources within a logic-based scoring assessment. This review measures the institution’s ability to meet and exceed thresholds for Retention, Graduation, Job Placement, Repayment, Persistence, and Loan Default rates for all students and specifically, for student veterans.

AUGUSTA 鈥 The 天美传媒 (UMA) has been recognized by two national organizations for its exceptional service to veterans, military service members, and their families. UMA has earned the 2020-2021 designation and was also named 2020 Best for Vets by .

UMA Awarded 2020 Best for Vets Colleges by Military Times

鈥淯MA is honored to receive these designations,鈥 stated UMA President Rebecca Wyke. 鈥淭his reflects the dedication of the faculty and staff of UMA to be a welcoming community for our military service members and veterans,鈥 Wyke continued. 鈥溙烀来 Veterans Academic Center continues to grow and is one of the major student hubs on the Augusta campus.鈥

鈥淲e are very pleased with the longstanding and continuing recognition by Military Friendly School and Military Times to 天美传媒 commitment in supporting our military service members and veterans, and their families,鈥 said Amy Line, UMA Director of Military and Veterans鈥 Services. 鈥淪upport and assistance for service members begin on their first day on campus right through to graduation.鈥

UMA Awarded 2020-20201 Military Friendly School

Institutions earning the Military Friendly听School designation are evaluated using both public data sources and responses from a proprietary survey completed by the school. Methodology, criteria, and weightings are determined by with input from the Military Friendly庐 Advisory Council of independent leaders in the higher education and military recruitment community. Final ratings were determined by combining the institution鈥檚 survey scores with the assessment of the institution鈥檚 ability to meet thresholds for student retention, graduation, job placement, loan repayment, persistence (degree advancement or transfer) and loan default rates for all students and, specifically, for student veterans.

More than 1,000 schools participated in the 2020-2021 survey with 695 earning the designation. The will be published in the May 2020 edition of G.I. Jobs magazine.

For the ranking, institutions were evaluated in five categories: university culture, student support, academic policies, academic outcomes/quality, and cost and financial aid. A full description of the methodology is available .
