Dr. Temple Grandin brought insight, humor, and inspiration to the 天美传媒 during her visit on Oct. 14. The event, held as part of 天美传媒 year-long 60th anniversary celebration, drew a sold-out audience of more than 600 people at the Augusta Civic Center.
Earlier in the day, Dr. Grandin met with about 25 UMA students for a small discussion focused on creativity, problem-solving, and the value of different ways of thinking. A meet and greet followed, where 40 guests connected with Dr. Grandin and UMA President Jenifer Cushman.
Her keynote address, 鈥淭he World Needs All Kinds of Minds,鈥 captured 天美传媒 mission to meet learners where they are and to celebrate diverse approaches to learning.
The event raised $10,000 for the Dr. Maya Angelou Leadership & Service Award Fund established by the UMA Student Government Association in 2010, directly supporting students through increased access and opportunity.
